Internships

CRC is actively seeking interns for the upcoming semester.

Capital Research Center (CRC) is America’s investigative think tank. Our research is responsible for uncovering the tangled web of left-wing politics and the people who fund it. At CRC, we examine how liberal groups operate and analyze their impact on our politics and society.

CRC’s hard-hitting, investigative journalism is grounded in the principles of individual liberty, a free-market economy, and limited, constitutional government.

Capital Research Center is currently looking for entrepreneurial college students to help us fulfill our mission. An ideal candidate will be motivated, hard-working, and passionate about the areas of nonprofit development, media and journalism, or investigative research.

Our interns will assist CRC staff in exposing left-wing bias in the environmentalist movement, labor unions, tax-exempt foundations, and nonprofit activist groups.

A CRC Internship Includes:

Payment — Unlike many DC internships, CRC interns are compensated and are paid the DC minimum wage.

Full-Time Work — CRC interns are scheduled to work 37.5 hours each week. (We may be able to accommodate part-time schedules based on circumstances, but please indicate that in your application email.)

Meaningful Projects — CRC interns are assigned high-priority projects, and they are expected to excel in entrepreneurial endeavors.

Networking — Our coveted positions offer an enclave into the thriving world of the conservative movement.

Applying

To apply, email your résumé, answers to the following questions, and (optional) writing samples to Laura Elliott ([email protected]). We are currently accepting applications for future internships.

Please submit brief (less than 500 words) answers to the following questions:

  • Which political philosophy do you identify with and why?
  • Why do you want to intern at Capital Research Center?

Applicants are encouraged to provide writing samples from articles, papers, or other previous work that reflect an understanding of free-market ideas or that explain complex issues in simple terms (e.g., items written for a reader of the Washington Post or a political magazine such as National Review).

Position Preference

Please list, in order of preference, the CRC departments in which you would like to intern—research/communications or development/fundraising.
